GEO-Instruments provides geotechnical and structural monitoring services. We integrate, supply, and install geotechnical and structural sensors. We are seeking an energetic person for the role of Business Development Manager to be based anywhere in the United States. This is a remote, work from home position with travel to various offices throughout North America.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will undertake the following:

  • Assist with GEO-Instruments sales and revenue-generating functions in the defined geographic area.
  • Assist in developing the annual business development and marketing strategies.
  • Work with area managers, regional engineers, and business development managers to create and advance technical presentations.
  • Assist with preparing specialty geotechnical proposals and supporting pre-qualification documentation.
  • Travel to regional locations to support promotional activities, attend local organizational meeting and trade shows, and provide operational support, as needed.
  • Assist with marketing and sales strategies

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following experience, education, and key characteristics:

  • A Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Geotechnics, Mining, Geomatics or Geophysics
  • 5 years Business Development experience in Geotechnical construction a plus
  • Ability to blend technical problem-solving skills with practical business intuition.
  • Willingness to travel regionally to promote sales and develop client-customer relationships.
  • Work well in a team environment but excel as a self-starter with the ability to work effectively with minimal direction and guidelines.
  • Comfortable interacting in a geotechnical engineering environment within the construction community (including engineers, architects, contractors, and owners)
  • Creativity in demonstrating GEO-Instruments unique value in geotechnical construction solutions to contractors and engineers.
  • Demonstrated records of accomplishments creating and managing business opportunities to effectively implement winning engineering strategies.
  • Ability to quickly evaluate both technical and commercial viability of opportunities to provide value to project teams.
  • Strong prioritization skills and self-motivation with a strong sense of urgency
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Willingness to make internal and external client presentations.
  • Willingness to develop entry level/junior marketing staff.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proficiency with estimation
  • Research and Strategy minded.
  • Negotiation and persuasion skills

  • Self-motivated with excellent customer service skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Works well under pressure to hit deadlines as needed.
