Keller is looking for an experienced Pre-Construction Manager based out of our San Diego, CA and Walnut Creek, CA locations.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include the following:

 

Business Development

  • Builds client base for a local market, industry segment or product.
  • Develops accurate market knowledge for future development strategy for the branch.
  • Develops relationships with customer decision makers.
  • Participates in industry associations to advance industry practices and develop prospective client relationships.

Proposal Preparations

  • Manages the strategy for proposals, analyzing risks, and setting the selling price; directly involved in the selling strategy and support the teams in this process.
  • Develops project specific proposal/bid strategies with Business Unit Management Team and Branch Managers.
  • Evaluates bid/no-bid with Business Unit Management Team and Branch Managers.
  • Develops detailed cost estimates.
  • Works with engineering to develop a cost-effective design.
  • Coordinates bid reviews and manages the submission of proposals.
  • Conducts bid follow up and communication until the job is awarded.

Risk Management

  • Fully understands and complies with Keller risk management policies and procedures.
  • Recognizes major risks and takes appropriate measures to reduce risk to the company.

People Management

  • Provides guidance, direction, coaching, and support to direct reports to maximize individual and overall department performance.
  • Takes appropriate action to develop direct reports including, but not limited to, preparing and monitoring career development plans, training, promotions, demotions, lateral moves, corrective action, and progressive discipline. 

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years geotechnical, construction or industry related experience preferred. 
  • Excellent computer, written and verbal communication skills necessary.
