The Heavy Equipment Mechanic role is to troubleshoot and repair specialized drilling and foundation equipment and provide proper reporting and documentation. Based on Frisco, TX with occasional travel to job sites. Minimum experience required – 5 years

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision and direction of the Shop Foreman, troubleshoot, repair and maintain drilling and foundation equipment (drilling rig, pumps, de-sander, cranes, hydro-mill, cable excavators, grabs etc..) according to specifications
  • Completing all required paperwork for Equipment Log, Quality Control and Inventory Control
  • Perform pre and post job equipment inspections, perform and complete preventative maintenance procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and perform all work in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures.
  • Dealing with difficult and varied personalities of crew, Company Man and other site personnel

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Applied Sciences or equivalent (Mechanic, Hydraulic or Fluid Power, Electric preferred)
  • Understanding of hydraulic and mechanic systems
  • High exposure to hydraulic and electrical schematics
  • Able to understand and follow written engineering procedures.
  • Ability to use personal computer and/or workstation
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team and to communicate effectively with site personnel

 

Physical Requirements

 

  • Working in outdoor weather conditions, in hot, in wet and extreme cold
  • Requires strenuous activities including walking, bending, climbing and being able to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
  • Long shifts, regularly 10 hour shifts of work
